When is my first 90-day report due after changing hotels in Thailand, and how do I file a TM30?

Hi all.

I entered Thailand on a 60-day TR visa in April.

In May, I secured an ED visa inside of Thailand (Bangkok Chaengwattana immigration office) using the TM30 from the first hotel that I stayed at (Hotel 1).

On the day of getting the ED visa stamp I had actually already moved to Hotel 2 shortly before, but the language school used the details of Hotel 1 on the visa application form paperwork.

Hotel 2 tried to file a TM30 via email when I checked in, but they got an auto-reply from Immigration stating that the system was temporarily not working.

I now have no clue whether the TM30 for Hotel 2 ever went through successfully and I'm concerned it will cause me problems with the 90-day reporting.

My questions:

1. When do I need to file my first 90 day report? Do I need to count from the day I entered Thailand on the TR60 or the day that the ED visa was approved?

2. If the TM30 was not successfully filed already, then how can I do that? Will I incur a fine or something if I try to file it NOW?

Many thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user entered Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa and switched to an ED visa while staying in different hotels. They seek clarification on when to file their first 90-day report and how to handle the TM30 if it wasn't successfully filed.

Now if you're NOT at the same address you were at when you got the Non-ED visa issued (from section C-1) you definitely need to get a new TM30 filed BEFORE you go for your extension (when this 90 day stamp runs down) because you're using a different address for this extension than they have for you on file.

OK perfect, thank you! Is it possible to self-file the new TM30 or do I have to push my hotel to make sure that they file it and file it successfully?

I'm guessing you are staying at a hotel. Since you do not have a lease, you can not self file. I know the TM30 system is still having problems, and the decent hotels are submitting the TM30 via e-mail. Contact the hotel.

You won't file a 90 day report until AFTER you get your first extension when this current 90 day Non-ED visa runs down and the school gives you paperwork to go back to the immigration office and apply for the extension in Section N

When you apply for your first extension of stay, they will put a paper in your passport that says when your first 90 day report is due.

It looks like this
