Some clarification please. 90 day reporting. Does it run from the date you enter the country or from the date of your visa extension. I think the former but I am hoping it's the latter!!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 90-day reporting for a Thai visa typically runs from the date you enter the country, not from the date of your visa extension. Some immigration offices may issue a new reporting date after an extension is granted, and if you have an extension of stay, a new report date may be indicated on the paperwork. It's important to verify with local immigration offices if there are any specific procedures that differ.

I have some new staff members that obtained their Non B visa from Laos on 4th April. This was then extended by immigration on the 20th June until 1st Jul 2019 supported by a work permit but no 90day slip appears to have been done. I am thinking my staff members should have done a 90 day report on or around the 4th July but I am puzzled as to why immigration did not do this for them on the 20th June?

it never happened in khonkaen but only in chaiyaphum when they opened the immigration office there.

this was last year.
i did my 90 day report around sept 16. my next report supposedly was roughly december 14 i think. but because my yearly extension is October 5. i went back in october for the extension, surprisingly, they took out the old receipt stapled on my passport and gave me a new receipt dates sometime in january
true. but they did it twice. at first i thought its because people who use khonkaen immigration and moved to chaiyaphum, they need to "reset" it. but for 2nd year, they did again.
strangely enough, it doesn't fall on the 90 day window. for example, they extension date is october 1st, and next reporting is december... they will take the receipt and will give you a new one for January.
just a bit of information, some immigration "reset" your 90 day from the day of application of yearly extension... but if they do this, they usually takes out your old receipt and write down a new date of notification. if they didn't take out or put any new 90 day receipt, your reporting continuous "as is"
It is not an "overstay" fine, that is totally different and a lot more expensive.

I got caught out with this. I got my extension at Jomtien and thought I then should report 90 days after that. I, and those who advise me were incorrect. I had to pay overstay fine. It is 90 days from entry into country ... requires separate visit to immigration.

Many offices count the day you do your initial extension as your first 90 day report, (even though you do not fill out the form).

When you do an application for Extension of Stay at local Immigration you are already in the country, it is not your first day you came into the country.
You day of entry is day number 1 than count 90 days onward, if you got an Extension of Stay, some Immigration Offices line up the dates and you have a new paper inside your passport with the new date to report.
