Hi,

Currently I'm under the Amnesty, I've Work Permit and NN B visa witch is expired on 10th April.

My question is:

Had anyone had experience with applying for 1 year extension after got the 30 days extension for unable to travel with the letter from the embassy?

Is it still possible to apply for it?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently under an amnesty program with an expired NN B visa and a valid work permit, seeking advice on applying for a one-year extension following a 30-day extension provided due to COVID-19 restrictions. Responses suggest that the possibility of extensions depends on coordination with the current employer and local immigration policies, with alternatives discussed, such as the potential for a 7-day extension if a one-year extension is not granted.

If i apply for 1 year extension of my NN B and they refuse it, do I have any short extension?

> do I have any short extension?

In theory, you may be able to request a 30 day extension to the amnesty using a letter from your embassy, saying you can't travel or because of a COVID-19 outbreak. See the attached flyer.

Possibility would be you get the letter from your embassy in Thailand and check with your local immigration.

no short term extension is available to Non-B.

do not they give you 7 days extension for living Thailand in case refuse?

IF you are refused for a one year extension of stay (or any extension) in normal times the Thai government would grant a 7 day extension of stay denied stamp, which will give you 7 days to leave Thailand. During COVID-19 times, they'll just tell you to stay on amnesty and leave by September 26.

thanks a lot.

In case of 7days denied stamp, in the future will be possible for me come back in Thailand with a new NON B visa using the same Work Permit, and after that apply again for 1 year extension, hoping the company will have all the documents right for have it?

*ASSUMING* everything returns to normal, and COVID-19 disappears:

If you get a 7 day extension of stay denied stamp, you can border bounce and return/ get a new visa/ or whatever appropriate entry you want to use as normal.

But.. we don't know when things will return to normal though

I edited my earlier comment and I believe that you will NOT be able to get any extension unless the employer that gave you the documents to go get the visa is the same company that is giving you documents for this new extension.

Sorry I gave you bad information earlier. Non-B visas are company specific (they usually write the name of the company on the visa sticker) and you have to get an extension with that company or go get a new Non-B visa.

It s the same company

as far as whether you could convert it to some other type of visa I'd doubt it because you can't go from one visa TYPE to another inside the country.

You need to be talking to the school you're thinking of enrolling in OR the foundation you're thinking of volunteering for to see what they say.

in theory, you MIGHT (but probably not) be able to take documents from your employer go to the immigration office and get a new extension while on amnesty from this expired 90 day Non-B entry stamp BUT again, check with the immigration office

I ask like option in case I can not have 1 year extension of my NN B
Ellie *******
@Fabio ********
You didn't have extension for Non-B yet.It's highly unlikely you can convert Visa type when you are (were) on entry from visa.

As
@T**
said, about this you had better to check with your local immigration office.

Also i would like to ask for a different option:

Is it possible to convert NN B in Student visa or Volunteer Visa without leaving Thailand?

>convert NN B in Student visa or Volunteer Visa

What's a NN B In Student Visa?
Fabio ****

Actually I've NON B single entry Visa.

Is it possible to convert it in Student Visa or Volunteer Visa without leaving Thailand?
Benjamin ******
@Fabio ********
You can not have a non-B single entry visa. A Non-B single entry is valid for 90 days, and the borders to Thailand have been closed longer than that. Are you on an extension of stay based on employment?

@Benjamin *****
as the photo of stamp: I entered Thailand on 10th January 2020 with NON B single entry that is expired on 10th April 2020.

So now under Amnesty.

Meanwhile I had Extension 30 days unavailable to travel with letter embassy.

My question is: can I still apply for 1 year extension of my NON B?

In alternative, can i convert my NN B in Volunteer or Study Visa without leaving Thailand?

that is between you, your new employer, the immigration office you deal with and the ministry of labor. No one on this group is gonna have the answers you want. Those are the places to contact to see if it can be done or not.
