TLDR : Answer Summary
The 30-day extension starts on the date granted, which in this case is July 13th, and would expire on August 11th. Several community members confirm this counting method and share experiences related to visa extensions and compliance with immigration regulations.

Covid extension has been extended until July 25th. That means the last day to apply for the covid extension is July 25th.

In our case we had to apply for extension within 2 days of expiry and gave us 30 days from the day that we applied, not the day of expiry.

I went to extend 4 days before expiry and they told me to come back at 2 days before. This was at the Pattaya office.

They made an error. 30-day extension runs from the date of expiry of the entry stamp, irrespective of when you apply for it. I know some people apply for the extension only a couple of days after they arrive in Thailand

I learned how they count their days the last time we were there and we had one day overstay. I greeted and spoke a little Thai with the IO, she let us exit without mentioning anything about the overstay.

One day overstay is never a problem. Any fine is always waived. It's nothing to do with language skills, it's immigration policy

I would lose about 1500 thb to change the flight from 12th to 11th. I go to thailand frequently because I'm living in SEA and I wouldn't want to risk having any issues with thai immigration for saving up 1000. Loved hearing your opinions on this matter.

change the flight if you come here regularly. No point to get that overstay stamp for 1500 baht

you dont really want any overstays on your history if your going there alot . It's not the money it's the rep. See if you can check in to the airport on the 11th at midnight whens your fight next day.. that's what I'd do

Matthew Thompson got loads of overstays made absolutely no difference when got Non O marriage visa or anything else such as ID.

Used to do 1 or 2 day overstays on purpose to avoid the big queues at immigration

Matthew Thompson its only a stamp in passport it doesnt go on any official record unless its a long overstay that results in a ban. I have a friend in immigration who showed me my record. Nothing on there about overstays.

Matthew Thompson One day overstays do not even attract a fine such is their low level of importance. Michael Dawson is quite correct. It's no big deal. Best to avoid of course, but it sure beats a trip to immigration and a 1900 baht extension for one day
