TLDR : Answer Summary
The 30-day extension starts on the date granted, which in this case is July 13th, and would expire on August 11th. Several community members confirm this counting method and share experiences related to visa extensions and compliance with immigration regulations.
They made an error. 30-day extension runs from the date of expiry of the entry stamp, irrespective of when you apply for it. I know some people apply for the extension only a couple of days after they arrive in Thailand
I learned how they count their days the last time we were there and we had one day overstay. I greeted and spoke a little Thai with the IO, she let us exit without mentioning anything about the overstay.
I would lose about 1500 thb to change the flight from 12th to 11th. I go to thailand frequently because I'm living in SEA and I wouldn't want to risk having any issues with thai immigration for saving up 1000. Loved hearing your opinions on this matter.
my first visit I overstayed by 2 days because my friend who had experience didn't explain that 1 month isn't 1 month its 4weeks and when booking flights this is very important
I agree but it is still on your history if you like it or not I think it's up to the individual to make there own mind up he ask for advise and we have both given it . He now knows Arn t we great people x
you dont really want any overstays on your history if your going there alot . It's not the money it's the rep. See if you can check in to the airport on the 11th at midnight whens your fight next day.. that's what I'd do
Matthew Thompson its only a stamp in passport it doesnt go on any official record unless its a long overstay that results in a ban. I have a friend in immigration who showed me my record. Nothing on there about overstays.
Matthew Thompson One day overstays do not even attract a fine such is their low level of importance. Michael Dawson is quite correct. It's no big deal. Best to avoid of course, but it sure beats a trip to immigration and a 1900 baht extension for one day
