Just wanted to share my stv Visa extension experience at Phuket immigration. All staff was super helpful and very easy to get the extension. Following docs were needed and whole process took less than 30 minutes

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual shares their positive experience of extending their STV visa at the Phuket immigration office, highlighting that the process was quick, taking less than 30 minutes. They mention the necessary documents required, including insurance, and received supportive comments from other users. However, there were discussions regarding the insurance requirements for the STV visa and the necessity of showing accommodation proof, which the original poster did not have to provide.

As the OP has her STV extension of stay I now will be close commenting.

She was very lucky to have had the insurance she used to obtain the extension as it does not meet the dual insurance requirements for the STV extension.

And she was lucky she did not have to show proof of prepaid residence for the three month STV extension ...which also is a requirement.

Other Thai immigration offices are following the STV extension requirements exactly. Be prepared to meet the requirements and you will get your STV extension.

We wish her Good Luck and Good Health ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

What insurer did you use to enter Thailand and for the STV extension?

Did you buy the full 9 months before you entered Thailand?

Or extended your policy for the STV extension?

And Safety Wing is the worst choice you made for insurance to extend the STV... As it not only does not meet the requirements for the STV extension... It will not cover you if you test positive for COVID in Thailand without symptoms... Buy Thailand will require you to go to the hospital for 10-14 days quarantine if tested positive with or without symptoms.

So you may have saved a few dollars by getting cheap Safety Wings insurance...Good morning Luck with any claims from COVID or sickness in Thailand ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

I only bought a 6 month insurance from Tune iPass. Would it work if I buy another 3 month of insurance Iโ€™m applying for my second STV extension?
James ********
@En**
yes you made a wise choice with buying the LUMA Tune insurance policy for the STV visa and extensions. It does meet the requirements for the STV visa and extensions.

And if you test positive for COVID in Thailand with or without symptoms during your stay LUMA Tune will pay your hospital bills in full direct to the hospital.

And now the LUMA policy is available for any expat inside Thailand... For allThose visa or extension reasons. ๐Ÿ˜Š

@James *******
when I came I had insurance for 3 months from Tugo.

Last week I bought insurance from safetywing for 3.5 months as safetywing is cheaper than Tugo.

@Shriti *******
reality is that the insurance you bought to enter Thailand did not meet the visa requirements...and the Safety Wing you bought to extend the STV also does not meet the STV visa requirements. You were lucky you had an ill informed Thai Immigration officer and Embassy.

Good for you.
