I am planning to go to Laksi tomorrow to apply for visa extension. My visa is from the cambodia border last month. May I know what do I need for that because I heard from some people that I need TM30 for that but they did not require that back when I did it the last time which is quite a long time ago.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the necessary documents for applying for a visa extension at Laksi Immigration, focusing on the often-debated requirement of the TM30 form. Community members share their experiences, noting that while some have successfully applied for visa extensions without the TM30 recently, others have stressed its necessity, especially at specific immigration offices such as IT Square in Laksi. The conversation emphasizes the variability of requirements depending on individual situations and the specific immigration office.

I think it is written as a requirement but have done Visa Extension at Laksi 2x in the past year (including once just 1 week ago) and did not require TM30 for either. I had the document in my bag in case, but it was not asked for:) Same for my friend. We came in to Thailand on Visa exemption (I’m Australian and my friend is French).

At IT Square you are for sure going to need a TM30 (like 99% of the time), at Chaengwattana if you book online and provide all necessary documents there you have the chance to not need the TM30

only can use CW Chaengewattana Immigration Office if you have a Thai tourist visa bought before you flew to Thailand.

Visa Exempt Entry MUST use the IT Laksi Square Thai Immigration office for their extension.

@James *******
that's incorrect information.

In Chaengwattana, 1 floor above the normal immigration division there is the "e-Extension" which is for extending different types of visas including non-exempt visas.

This costs 500 baht extra but can be done online and you only go there to receive your stamp. It's way faster (no queue), way easier (mostly online) and saves a lot of headaches.

You can also just walk in and they'll assist you.

@Marco *******
, you cannot go to e-Extention floor on your own to apply for an extension as walk-ins or online booking through immigration site. You have to apply for an extension in advance through the special website to use that service.

thank you for this information.

let's Ask
@Tod ********
if you can use CW Chaengewattana Immigration Office if you have ENTERED Thailand Visa EXEMPT ENTRY and use the Evisa extension on-line application for the 30 days extension of stay at ADDED cost of 500 Thai baht Plus the usual 1900 Thai baht extension fee.

@Marco *******
Where does that say Visa Exempt, all I see is Visa extension?
Tod *********
@Graham *****
go to the website and it gives the choice to apply for the eExtension using a visa exempt entry ผ.30 (Por 30). The cheapest it is for this service is 500 baht PLUS the 1900baht for the extension fee.

@Graham *****
I've done multiple visa exempt extensions myself here. If you go to the website you can see all available options for yourself.

In Lak Si they require tm30 from everyone nowadays.

hi you have enough info on what you need at immi tomorrow. Re TM30 are you staying in a hotel in Bangkok? If so ask for a TM30 Receipt
Ellie *******
Attached is typical requirements information for tourism extensions. At Bangkok, it's rather the hit-or-miss situation about TM30. You may or may not be asked. It's your choice to try without it first.

@Ellie ******
thank you. Do you already need to have a tourist visa to apply for extension? (I have 30 day exemption)
