So, I am the person who posted yesterday about needing an appointment for the DTV.
1. I didn't need an appointment in Koh Samui
2. After all the paperwork I gave I needed more.
3. Waiting for my landlord to send me a receipt for the rent.
4. I don't think they will give it to me even when I give them what they want.
5. Has anyone succeeded in extending. I think it's not possible.
6. I will update when I get the receipt

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster discusses their experience trying to extend a DTV visa in Koh Samui, noting they did not need an appointment but faced additional requirements, including a landlord's rent receipt. They express skepticism about successfully obtaining the extension. Comments from others suggest that while extensions are possible at various immigration offices in Thailand, requirements can differ significantly, and being prepared with updated documents is crucial. Some advise considering a visa run for simplicity.
There have been posts about extending in a few offices ie Krabi, Phuket, chiang Mai so it is possible. The Rent Receipts requirements I have not seen before - must be a Samui thing. Good l;uck anyway and hope it all works out.
I can believe that. I have dealt wit immigration in a couple of offices ie Bangkok and Jomtien. Moved to Chiang Mai 4 months ago and they are so helpful here. I was both taken aback and really pleased.
People have extended the DTV but every immigration office has different requirements. They do all seem to want updated docs for your remote work or soft power activity and 500k baht in the bank for at least 30 days
literally no way when you can spend less time flying to Cambodia etc spend a night enjoy and fly back . Big chance of being denied when doing in country 🤷♂️ But you do you and keep us posted 🤷♂️
Depends on location too - Bangkok and Jomtien, you have easy access to BKK and a multitude of flights. I moved to CM a few months ago and I am def travelling less due to having to connect through BKK. 🙂
I am really enjoying it. Been 4 months now. My lifestyle has changes so not partying much now so it suits. I love the food, the people are nice and it is much more relaxed. I came up 4 times over a few months before making the decision.
I took a condo in centre of Nimman so I can walk most places I go. The food is great up here - I eat a lot more local food than I did in Bangkok and Pattaya. I even got my Car and Motorbike licenses here. The Coffee/Cafe Culture is nice. The people are definitely more polite and happier :-)
