Has anyone come back to Thailand after being on the 60-day covid extension of stay, and if so, which visa did you get upon re-entry?

(More info: I’m currently on the 60-day extension of stay until the end of July. I can extend it again, but I’d also like to go back to the US for a month in August. What would my options be coming back to Thailand sometime in September?)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses options for re-entering Thailand after utilizing a 60-day COVID extension of stay. The commenter notes that the current extension doesn't affect future visa options. They mention two main paths: either applying for a visa at a Thai consulate before returning or entering Thailand without a visa under a visa-exempt entry.

Your options to return would be the same as they are now and the fact you're on covid extensions NOW doesn't matter in the least

You either BUY a visa from a thai consulate in your country before you come back (which ever one you qualify for) OR you wing your way back without having bought a visa and enter on a visa exempt entry
