What are my options for extending my stay in Thailand and returning if my covid extension expires?

Hi all, needing some advice re. covid extensions and re-entry.

I have a current covid extension up to May 27th, but I need to return to the UK soon. I would ideally like to come back to Thailand after 1-2 month back in the UK. I entered visa exempt in Dec, and have had 1x1month extension and 2x2month covid extensions. It looks like I can get a cheap flight on May 31st, but obviously this would push me over my current extension.

Am I correct that my options are (a) get another 2 month covid extension or (b), if for whatever reason I can't get another covid extension, get the 7 day get out of Thailand extension? Specifically, is the 7 day extension always guaranteed as a last resort to avoid having to overstay and pay the fine? Ideally I want to avoid this and increase my chances of being allowed back in July. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on options concerning their expiring covid extension and plans to return to the UK. They currently have a visa exempt entry with additional covid extensions and are considering applying for another extension or a 7-day extension to avoid overstaying. Commenters confirm the user's options and suggest considering flight dates to mitigate unnecessary extensions.

I think OP got enough information to make his own decision. Please contact one of the moderators if you still have something to talk about regarding to the original post.

it's a VISA advice group,

what it is not is a

- how do i find a cheap onward travel,

- what are the entry requirements to get IN

- how do I get a resident certificate,

- how can I open a bank account

- how do I marry my thai significant other

OR

any number of totally NOT visa related questions (often posed under the guise of being "visa related" ๐Ÿ™‚ )

you wanna find onward travel GOOGLE is your friend the group is not ๐Ÿ˜œ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜‰

I took the liberty of checking Google flights I can see some decent fares on the 27th in fact slightly cheaper than the 31st if you want to do away with the hassle of going to an IO office and maybe better than having another covid extension if planning to return soon ( admins please feel free to edit my advise as you see fit I never know if I'm giving good advice on here ) the only thing I can think of regards to your flight comments if you already hold a ticket and they want too much to change the date but if not plenty of choice around the 12-14 k THB also Finnair is pretty decent

Thanks Raymond, although the flight I am looking at on the 31st is around half of that price with Finnair. Unfortunately money is very tight at the moment !

Correct those are pretty much your options

you could apply for another covid extension before the current program runs out on May 24th and see if you get it and if not you can ask for a 7 day extension denied stamp that gives you a week from the date you apply to leave the country.
