Good morning. I am after advice on which visa I should be applying for before going to Thailand. The story is: I will be leaving to go and live in Thailand towards the end of July. Once I am in Thailand I will switch to a marriage visa. I have had a look through all of the visa products that are offered by the Thai consulate in Canberra but it is unclear which one I should choose. I emailed the consulate and they told me to read the Web pages. Not very helpful really. Can I apply for an Evisa and if so which one. I live in Australia and would appreciate any help. Thank you in advance.
Thanks to the guys who answered fairly. I have now turned off commenting. I appreciate your replies

TLDR : Answer Summary
The recommendation for the user is to apply for a Non-O visa based on marriage before arriving in Thailand, which directly corresponds to their intention of switching to a marriage visa. Several comments from the community confirm this advice, highlighting that the Non-O visa allows for indefinite extensions as long as immigration requirements are met. The user seeks clarity on the application process, having found the information from the consulate unhelpful.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
Apply for the Non Imm O based on marriage before you arrive in Thailand. You can then apply for extentions of stay indefinitely provided you meet Immigration requirements
So in the section where they ask for a date of departure , the non O is for 90. I'm assuming the departure date must be before the 90 days have expired? Or does it not matter what date?
