Hi All, just chasing some advice on visa applications. I am an Australian citizen and currently in Australia last year I married my long term Thai partner and returned to Australia due to work but am wanting to return to Thailand to be with my partner and to buy a business. What is the best process for visa do I need to get a 90 day before I return then apply for marriage or business visa? Or can I enter Thailand on a tourist visa and complete all applications in Thailand? I am 52 and will have rented a condo in my name before I return in March. Just looking at what would be the best and easiest option. Thanks in advance for advice. ๐Ÿ‘

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, an Australian citizen, inquires about the best visa process for returning to Thailand after marrying a Thai partner and intends to buy a business. They seek advice on whether to obtain a 90-day Non-O visa before returning or enter on a tourist visa and apply for the required visas in Thailand. Community comments recommend showing proof of funds in a Thai bank account for the marriage-related visas and provide options for both obtaining visas in Australia or upon arrival.

You need to show 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only if you're going to get either the 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage OR the year extension based on marriage here inside the country.

You can show proof of funds in your country to get the 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai from the consulate in Sydney, but you'd still need to bank 400K baht in a thai bank here to get a year extension at the immigration office based on marriage to a thai.

You can enter on a free 30 day entry stamp OR a 60 day single entry tourist visa, get the funds in place then apply first for the 90 day Non-O based on marriage then 2 months later the year extension (also based on marriage)

OR

You can get the 90 day Non-O based on marriage in your country, come here get the funds in place and 2 months later apply for the year extension.

That's a choice YOU have to make, it can be done either way.
