TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is asking for advice on extending their visa when their work permit remains valid for a year, but the visa is expiring soon due to the employer's temporary closure.

if your employer does not support you for the Extension of Stay there is not much you can do other than leave the country or find a way to get a Tourist visa.

Wouldn't getting a tourist visa require him to leave Thailand, and once he's out of Thailand, he can't return?
