Hi. I've got a METV from 07th aug 2019 until 6th feb 2020.

I entered to Thailandon the 26th aug 2019.

I have a stamp valid until 24th oct 2019.

My question is What exactly i have to do before the 60 days run out?

My girlfriend and I stay in Phuket at the moment near Patong beach.

There is an immigration office here. I asked them but i did not get a clear answer as they said even i have 6 months METV it still allows me to stay here 60 days or i can extend it and thats it.

Thank u for the answers in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
You have a METV valid until 6th February 2020 and entered Thailand on 26th August 2019, with a stamp valid until 24th October 2019. Before the 60 days run out, you can either apply for a 30-day extension at the immigration office for 1900 baht or exit Thailand and re-enter to receive a new 60-day entry stamp. Note that after the extension, you will still need to exit and re-enter to get another stamp.

unfortunately this isn't the "how can I get to the closest border", "is it better to fly or bounce by land" f/b group.

You're not the ONLY foreigner living there that needs to bounce out and back. Ask around, google is your friend, this group is your friend for VISA questions. It is not your friend for how to get from point a to point b questions.

Sorry about that, at least you know how the visa works now.

Good Luck (y)

Let me explain how that visa works

The 6 month METV is a multi-entry tourist visa that allows you to come and go all you want to thailand during the validty of the visa itself (6 months from the date it was issued)

Every entry gets you stamped in for 60 days. When that entry runs out you have two choices;

Go to an immigration office and get a 30 day extension for 1900baht

OR

Exit/re-enter thailand to get a NEW 60 day entry stamp.

Even if you do get the 30 day extension at the immigration office you will still need to exit/re-enter the country after that runs down to get a new 60 day entry stamp.

You can spend almost 9 months of time IN thailand (in 60 day increments) by bouncing out and back in every time your entry stamp is running out to get a new one.

Ok. I assume thats called borser run ive heard about before.

So if either i would choose to fly out or take a bus over the border which one would be better option moneywise?

When that 60 days runs out you either go to a border, stamp out of thailand, stamp in and out of another country and then stamp back into thailand to get a NEW 60 day stamp OR you go to the immigration office and pay 1900baht to get a 30 day extension.

Then when that 30 days runs out you have to exit/re-enter to get a new 60 day stamp.

do I literally have to leave the country or lets say just travel to phuket airport and get a stamp there?
