Can I leave Thailand and re-enter on my METV to get a visa extension?

Questions about the 6 month METV- thanks to this group for the helpful advice received so far!

I have just re entered Thailand on my 3rd re entry since I obtained the visa and was stamped for 60 days today.

I followed the advice from this group and arrived today from overseas closest to the date my METV visa was set to expire/be used by so I will have got a little over 6 months out of the visa.

My two questions are:

1. Can I go overseas in November and come back in the next 60 days as I have a stamp to 25 December? Or if I leave Thailand is that that- visa used (as visa used by date was 1 November)

2. If I leave for a couple of weeks and return before Christmas Day can I apply for the 30 day extension and do I need to worry about closure over Christmas period?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the conditions of their re-entry to Thailand with a METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa) after receiving a 60-day stamp, specifically whether leaving Thailand would void the visa and if they could apply for a 30-day extension upon returning before Christmas.

If you're thinking you want to keep this current 60 day stamp "alive" (as in exit/re-enter) you'd have to get a single re-entry permit before you flew out. Then when you come back you'd get stamped in until the 25th of Dec

You could apply for a 30 day extension on that entry stamp once you're back no issue at all. Umm, there is no "christmas closure period" you're in thailand ๐Ÿ™ They close for new years only.

So get a re-entry permit before you leave for 1000baht, come back in and take the 30 day extension on the current TR60 stamp you have that expires Dec 25
