General question. My husband has a METV that expires at the end of April. If he enters into Thailand another time before it expires, he gets the 60 days. Can he still extend another 30 days (after the 60 days, total of 90 days) even if the visa itself has already expired? Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, your husband can enter Thailand with a valid METV before it expires and receive a new 60-day stamp. Following that, he can extend his stay for an additional 30 days at the immigration office, even though the METV itself will have expired.
okay, the way a 6 month METV works is it's valid for 6 months from the date it's issued, it's good for unlimited entries during that time, each entry is for 60 days (even if you enter the last day the visa is valid for you get stamped in for 60 days) and you can extend each entry once for 30 days at the immigration office
So the answer to your question are, yes he can get a new 60 day stamp and yes he can get a 30 day extension on that last entry
absolutely. I knew the 60 day stamp (since he’d be entering before expired), just wanted to clarify the 30 day extension, since the visa would be expired
The visa itself has no correlation with applying for an extension. Though make sure you keep the copy since you'll need the visa as part of the extension application.
