Hi everyone,

Thanks for the help so far ,

I have a question regarding the issuance of a new passport while on a non O visa ( not extension).

If i understood correctly, the IO won't transfer visa stickers but only stamps.

The thing is is that I'll be starting a new job on September 12th and will get my new passport around this time. I was thinking to go transfer my visa and then ask for my extension based on mariage but this is not possible ?

What would be the solution then? Take my passport and wait that my visa is 45 days old to go with both passport and request for my extension?

For the work permit, update the passport number at the time of extension?

Thank you for your help,

Anthony

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the process of handling a non O visa while obtaining a new passport. They seek guidance on transferring their visa from the old passport to the new one, specifically in relation to gaining an extension based on marriage. The user is uncertain if they should wait for the current visa to be 45 days old to proceed with their extension and how to manage their work permit update in conjunction with the passport change.

Thank you for your reply. So I stay on my old passport number for my work permit until the work permit extension also?

I can't transfer my visa as soon as I get my new passport ( just for peace of mind, since I read that you should do the transfer as soon as you get your passport) ?

take your NEW passport along with your current passport to your local Thai immigration office to request...if they will...transfer of your current Non O Visa. Otherwise take both with you when you make an application for the one year extension of stay as Married to Thai.

You can transfer the entry stamp from the Non-O visa to new your passport as soon as you get t new one. Your single entry Non-O is already used and not valid anymore.
