What steps should I take to transfer my visa extension to a new passport while managing the 800k rule in Thailand?

i have a non-imm. type O one year extension of stay issued out of Bangkok expires October 9th. I have been out of the country for 5 months traveling and needed a new US passport with more pages. I also have the new 800k rules to deal with.

A few questions on next steps:

1. The Saigon Embassy only issues a letter with a lost passport. I will take the new and old passport with the Thailand non- imm. over 50 extension page and stamp to Bangkok CW Imm. Office on Tuesday. I assume I need to bring photos (?), copies of the photo and data passport pages and extension page of both new and old passports to have the extension transferred over to the new passport. I will not have a letter issued with the new passport. Is there anything else I need to be bring with me?

2. I am writing my Bangkok Hotel to make sure they are able to do an online tm30 in case I need that out at immigration ( and if not I still need a tm30 from here on at every new address for when I do my 1 yr. extension in a few months?).

3. I know I need to tranfer the 800k back into my Bangkok Bank account two months before I apply for the extension and then keep it there for three months additional under the new rules. I want to use transferwise or similar service and so I might not be able to document the 800k as an international transfer. But from what I remember the 800k needed for the extension does not have to have the international transfer documentation (only need that for the 65,000 per month method). Is that still the case under the new rules?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks guidance on transferring their NON-O visa extension from an old passport to a new one, highlighting their concerns about documentation requirements and financial rules regarding the 800k baht requirement. They have four main questions: the necessary documents for the Thai Immigration Office for passport transfer, the importance of TM30 registration with their hotel, and concerns about proving the source of funds for their extension under the new rules.

That's what I was thinking but then who's to say with the bkk tm30 changes still underway that I won't need to document every address with a tm30 from now until July 1st when I apply for a new extension. I'm thinking better safe than sorry but maybe that's not necessary.

When you go to apply for your new yearly extension you will need a TM.30 receipt for where ever it is you're staying.

To get stamps transferred to a new passport out at Chaengwattana you need the following..

So when you entered the country on your new passport they stamped you in on it right?

I ask that because you say that the US consulate in Saigon only gives the letter when you lose your passport.

show BOTH passports when you stamp into the country. The old one that you have your extension and your re-entry permit in AND the new one that they will stamp you in on.

There are two scenarios that can happen. They will stamp you in on the new passport and say go to the immigration office and have them move your extension and re-entry permit stamps to the new passport

OR

they can do it right there at the airport.

If I was a betting man I'd wager they're going to just stamp you in on the new passport and tell you to take them both to the immigration office to get the stamps transferred ;)

I am still in Saigon but will enter at the BKK airport on Monday. I am thinking I will just have them stamp the new passport because I don't want to confuse things and also show the old passport .... passport has my METV and my Thai extension pages. I'm not sure what the correct procedure is.

I did in Feb. 2019 travel as a transfer through the BKK airport on the way to the US from Vietnam and had to get back quickly for a heart operation so just showed and Bkk stamped the new passport at that time.

there is no proof of origin on where the 800K baht comes from when you are getting a new extension of stay.
