I have a DTV visa, valid until 2029.

After now stayed in Thailand 6 months Im going back to my home country.

I plan to return to Thailand in November, is there anything I need to do regarding my visa, or just bring it to show when I enter the border, just like I did this time?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user with a DTV visa valid until 2029 asks whether they need to do anything regarding their visa before returning to Thailand after six months away. They previously showed their visa upon entry and want to confirm if that will suffice again. Comments suggest checking with immigration to protect the visa and remind the user about becoming a tax resident after 180 days in the same calendar year. Another comment expresses confusion about entry rules for Australians.

I’m Australian, what’s the latest on the 60 day free entry, is it going back to 30 day , and is the ETA coming in

Thailand makes thing so confusing by changing it rules every few months

Just a reminder you'll become a tax resident once you've stayed 180 days or more in the same calendar year. You'll be expected to file.

People just post any old rubbish they read on the internet. No experience of what they are talking about

what he says actually exist, but only an idiot would do it without being enforced to. Unless you have unlimited resources and you dont have where to spend it, so you play it online an obedient clown…

What's with calling others idiots? I've always talked respectfully. They didn't catch you then doesn't mean they won't in the future. So you don't mind if later they catch you and you need to pay what you owe plus fines? Everyone decides for themselves the risks they take, but i think you're playing with fire.

You called yourself idiot, i never did 😉 Read it carefully. Catch what and where?! The worst thing that could happen to you in Thailand is pay 2-10k baht in a fine eventually, unless you are dealing drugs or killing people.

says who? Thailand can’t even enforce Thais to file tax returns, who on a DTV has been told to file a tax return?

@Davis *****
no one, you are correct.

@Davis *****
DTV is irrelevant, just 180 days threshold. Every thai tax lawyer will tell you the same. What does enforcement have to do with it? You only follow rules that are enforced? You realize they can go back in time x years to check your taxation record right?

nobody is “expecting” anyone to file a tax return. It’s just now how it works
Toon *********
@Davis *****
that's all wishful thinking, the government clearly expects it.

@Toon ********
LOLZ. Do you even live in Thailand?
Toon *********
@Davis *****
no, I'm in the process of moving, which is why i visited and paid an actual thai tax attorney office that specializes in foreigners to learn about this, aside from also doing my own research on the topic. Which I'm now sharing for free only to be disrespected apparently. But you don't have to listen to me, if you want to commit fraud you're free to do so.

you shouldn’t even consider coming to live in Thailand. This place will eat you alive

well buddy you wasted your money paying this “Thai tax attorney” who scammed you out of your money.

Check the immigration control centre, if you need to protect your visa, to make sure you till have it on the return to Thailand
Toon *********
@Colin ********
the DTV is multiple entry by default as i understand it. There is no 'protecting your visa'.
