Hi,

Request for advice regarding the DTV visa.

I applied for a DTV visa as the wife (my husband received the visa earlier). Unfortunately, I did not manage to receive it while in Poland and I have already arrived in Thailand. I received a request to complete the application: (Please upload a copy of the written statement (with the applicant's signature) with information regarding current place of stay/location status.) If I cross the border tomorrow and write a statement with a stamp in my passport indicating that I am in Malaysia, will it make sense? I applied at the embassy in Poland because that is where I was staying; will my trip to Malaysia be of any benefit? Will they reply that I should apply in Malaysia?

as promised I am back with information and it is unbelievable! I managed to get a DTV visa! I wrote an explanation that when I submitted the application I was in Poland and unfortunately the Christmas and New Year period meant that I did not have time to get a visa before departure. I also mentioned that the plane ticket in the peak season was expensive so I did not want to give up the trip and I ask for a visa despite my current stay in Thailand so that I could use it on my next trip. I also mentioned that my work on site in Poland is necessary for 4 months a year, and the rest of the time I work remotely. Once again, thank you very much for all the tips and your support πŸ™πŸ˜˜

Since they already know you are in Thailand, and for some reason obviously aready had doubts about your location and therefore asked all pages of your passport I think pretending you are somewhere else or travel somewhere else does not help.

You might declare you are in Thailand with your husband and say you thought it was OK to travel together.

You have to prove you are where you applied. If they ask for a full copy of every page of your passport your application will be rejected.

Too late, I already sent them copy of passport pages and that's probably why they sent this now: "Please upload a copy of written statement (with applicant's signature) with information regarding current place of stay/location status.)"

I can pretend that I don't understand and send an electricity bill stating that I permanently live in Poland. But I feel they will reject......

you may not get rechecked. Give the electricity bill a go as you home residence is in Poland. You have nothing to lose now.

No. Do not tell them you are in Malaysia or they will cancel your application and tell you to apply through the Thai embassy in Malaysia.

Are you a polish citizen or resident? Do you have anything with a polish address like a drivers license, phone or electricity bill, bank statement or anything like that you can submit?

Yes, I am Polish and I have the documents you are asking about. I applied for a visa from Poland on December 20. I have been in Thailand since January 2 and they know it because a few days ago they asked me to send all pages of my passport, and there is a stamp from January 2. Now they have sent another request - I think because of this. But I will try to do as you advise me, maybe it will work. mentioning in the declaration that I was staying in Poland when submitting the application. Thank you for adviceπŸ₯°
