Hi Guys, on the 13th of December I’ll be back in Germany and then I’ll apply for the DTV immediateley. I’ll leave Germany again on the 28th of December and enter Thailand on the 29th of December. I know it will be a bit tight with Christmas to get the approval in time. What if they approve my visa when I already entered Thailand again? Can I then just leave Thailand and reenter to validate the DTV?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is concerned about applying for a DTV visa while in Germany and potentially entering Thailand before the visa is approved. Several commenters advise that given holiday processing times, it's risky to travel before receiving approval, as it could delay issuance. However, if approved after entering Thailand, the user can activate it with a border run.

You can call the Thai embassy in Berlin at specific times during the week (check on their website) and just ask them.

The processing times on the Embassy website, may not be accurate now, because it is the most busy time of the year regarding visa application, so you need to allow longer time than usual.

It is not advisebel to leave for Thailand, before the visa is issued, as many Embassies write at their website.

The quoted processing time is 15 working days and there are 3 thai holidays in the period you state so you have little to no chance of your visa being issued in that period. If they request additional documentation the 15 days resets to where you supply them. I'd strongly recommend you stay in Germany until the visa is issued, they can call you in for an interview

Yes, if your approved after your already here you can just do a border run to activate.
