Currently I'm working as a teacher in Rayong province and got a new job in Nonthaburi under Kasetsart University. I'm planning to plead with my school not to cancel my work permit and 1 year extension I do from them.
My concern is
If I plead with them but still the cancel my work permit anyways how risky is that to my stay here?
Will the extension be cancelled too by the immigration?
if only my work permit is cancelled can I still use my extension to exit in order to get a new non b visa when ever I want too (2 months after being cancelled because the University is slow at doing the necessary documents)?
Lastly will I necessarily need a new 2 teacher's waiver to apply for a new work permit?
Thanks for your answers

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on the implications of their work permit being potentially cancelled by their current employer as they transition to a new teaching job at Kasetsart University. They express concern about the cancellation affecting their visa extension and their ability to apply for a new non-B visa. Commenters clarify that when a work permit is cancelled, the extension of stay must also be cancelled unless a new work permit is acquired quickly. The discussion highlights the importance of having documentation from the employer and clarifies that university employment has different regulations compared to basic schooling.
I'd say you've got good advice so far, when your employer cancels your work permit you take the receipt of it being canceled to the immigration office and buy a 7 day get outta thailand extension denied stamp for 1900baht. Then start over at square one.
You are the holder of the Work Permit and the Extension of Stay in your passport not your Employer. You will get a letter from your employer with your last day of employement. And that day WP as the Extension will be invalid and have to be cancelled by you.
than maybe, it depends on if Department of Labor use internal database or a central database for all offices. in Krabi they where not amused when a person did not cancel and returned his wp. New application took a long time.

The reason exit points want to see the letter is to stop people doing exactly what you want to do. Staying here with what should have been a cancelled extension. Remember exit points have no way of checking online as to your extension status, hence the letter.
in theory it does, but many land border points want to see you've canceled your extension even people on ED visa extensions have been denied exiting the country until they go cancel it/
The day your Work Permit get cancelled you have to visit Immigration with the cancellation papers of the WP and cancel your Extension Of Stay based on that work permit. You can directly apply for new Extension of Stay but without new WP it will be denied and you get 7 days to leave the country.
As Lloyd, just mentioned exit points ask to see the letter with last day of employment. No chance at all to play the game: I did not know that I was fired or WP was cancelled.
Kasetsart being a university falls under the OHEC not OBEC that schools come under, therefore the TCT have nothing to do with your employment. You do not need a licence or waiver to teach at a university.
