I am on a non-O dependent visa based on my wife non-B visa. I am discussing employment with a company and wonder if once I start working I can just stay on the non-O or I must swap to non-B. Or wonder if this swap could happen happen at later stage?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a Non-O dependent visa linked to their wife's Non-B visa and is considering employment. They are unsure whether they can remain on the Non-O visa after starting work or if they need to switch to a Non-B visa. There is uncertainty about the requirements for visa status changes upon employment.

Wow, that's a question I've never been asked or heard asked before :O
You most likely aren't on ANY visa now but a yearly extension of stay that matches your spouses.
Honestly I got no idea, BUT if I was a betting man I'd wager, once you have a job you would change the reason for your extension from piggy backing or Klingon (clinging on your spouses extension) to one based on employment.

We couldn’t get a WP for one of our guys who had a Non-O based on being married to a foreigner. Cancelled the old extension, went to Lao to get Non-B, then business as usual.
Are you on a yearly extension of stay based on being married to a foreigner who legally works here? It is not the same as being on an extension based on marriage to a thai.
, because you're not on a Non-O extension based on marriage to a thai but because you are married to foreigner legally working here I don't think you can pull a work permit from it.
I'd certainly ask your potential employer or make a trip to the Ministry of Labor (the people who issue work permits) and ask.. If they will issue you a work permit on that extension, you should be fine.
on the 1 year extension. I thought I red somewhere in the past that you can just stay on a non-O. I would prefer this as the job might be a precarious position and I don't want to go through the all visa thing again if things don't work out
