What should I do if my visa application is approved while I'm on a visa on arrival in Thailand?

Guys I will go to Hi Chi Minh soon for a DTV, apparently I have all the requirements needed but who knows? 😄 In Thailand everything is possible, so what happens if after waiting one week I back in a visa on arrival and my visa is approved after ? Should I fly back to Vietnam?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the procedure to follow if they return to Thailand on a visa on arrival after applying for a DTV visa in Vietnam, and what would happen if their visa gets approved during that time. Comments suggest possible challenges, such as needing to provide additional documents or potentially attending an interview upon re-entry to Thailand.

I don't understand what is the big deal with waiting in the country you applied. What is so urgent you must get back to Thailand. You then have ti return to the country you applied to get the stamp

I'm sure everyone has different reasons .

I didn't want to be trapped with another year lease back home . On top of I had a deadline on flying . I'm 8 months pregnant I'm 35 weeks now been here almost 2 weeks . I didn't want my baby born in the states and then moved to another country . On top of a newborn on a long flight oowee .

We just made sure we had enough money that if we needed to stay where we applied for the visa we would be okay .

So we can stay here 60 days . Then extend 30 more . I'm due February 5th or sooner . So in-between these visa exempt days . We are looking for places already have a few were looking at next week ( working with a dude that does alot of YouTube videos out here and he has some people who are helping us look at places .) on top of they help with DTV not sure how yet but it was mentioned . Once baby is born we get birth certificate and passport for her . Then file under the DTV spouse and dependents .

Even when we came through immigration we told them were having our baby in Bangkok and looking for an home . Once we get established were getting dtv . They stamped all our passports . And didn't even ask for our plane ticket out of Thailand even tho we bought them .

that sounds extremely complicated and stressful. Don't understand why your doing it. Keep things simple and will save you money. If you have applied in the stated stay there. What's the big rush ? Doesn't make sense what you are saying and doing. Your choice good luck with that

it's not complicated to us . What would be complicated is getting stuck in another lease and then having a newborn to travel with . Plus I was dealing with custody etc. it's been really smooth sailing honestly .

You'll get asked to supply all your passport pages or attend an interview when you're back in Thailand. 🙂

Please share with us the story where it happened. Because it is always the same 2-3 people that say exactly the same about that. It is very complicated for the immigration to see if you applied for a visa and come back on visa exemption. A wise officer might spot you were in the country at the time the visa was issue but there is no explicit law that forbid you to come while you are waiting the visa...The general rule is : You must apply for a visa from outside Thailand. That's it.

- So what do you make of the statement above, posted on the Thai embassy in Netherlands’ page? Do you think they are wrong? Do you think the authority invested into this embassy is different than that given to other Thai embassies by the MoFAs?
Bruno ***********
Probably mate, as this is not standardized for every embassy. But you have a point. This is a clue indicating it is better to wait the whole visa process to be finished before coming to Thailand or even travel in an other country that the one you applied the DTV

I will post SOME examples. If you want to see more, just search for it. Why even question if these things happen. They do, so people should allow enough time for the visa process.

I can't be bothered searching for the posts. I'm just glad my DTV wasn't issued while I was in Thailand as it's something they could check for in the future.
