What will happen if my DTV visa application is denied after traveling to Vietnam, and can I return to Thailand until March 11?

I currently have the Visa on Arrival stamp and can stay in Thailand until March 11. However, I will be traveling to Vietnam for 10 days in early February to apply for the DTV visa. What happens if the visa application is denied and I have to return to Thailand? Can I still stay until March 11? Technically, I’ve already used up my allowed days with the tourist visa since I was here for 90 days before. But first I need to go back to my condo in case I have to leave... 😬

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user currently holds a Visa Exempt stamp valid until March 11 but plans to travel to Vietnam to apply for a DTV visa. There are concerns about being denied the DTV visa and the implications for returning to Thailand. Comments clarify that the Visa Exempt stamp will be canceled upon exiting Thailand, and re-entry will depend on the immigration officer's discretion. If denied, the user may receive another 60-day Visa Exempt stamp upon re-entry, but there is no guarantee of re-admittance.

No guarantee you will be re-admitted. Wait until your DTV is approved

Surely you mean you will travel to Vietnam and stay until your DTV application is approved or rejected.

Do you have a Visa on Arrival or a 60 day Visa Exempt? They are not the same. If visa exempt it is cancelled the day you exit. If DTV is rejected you will in all likelihood get another 60 day visa exempt unless you have really been pushing the envelope.

You will get a 60 days visa exempt stamp again when you fly back into Thailand

You don't have a visa on arrival stamp. You have a visa exempt stamp. That stamp will be null and void when you leave Thailand to apply for the DTV. If you don't get the DTV entry to Thailand will be at the discretion of the immigration officer you will stand in front of at that time. Nobody can say what the outcome will be
