Does anyone know if you can enter Thailand with free visa while applying DTV and if you got DTV, then you left the country to a nearby country and re-enter again with DTV Visa?

Reason : My flight is tomorrow but my DTV Visa is still not approved yet. I'm Asian btw.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion focuses on whether an individual can enter Thailand using a visa exemption while waiting for their DTV visa approval, and if it's possible to re-enter Thailand with the DTV visa after leaving for a nearby country. Several users report having successfully entered Thailand under these conditions but caution that it may violate the rules and jeopardize the DTV application. Concerns were raised about the requirement to remain in the country where the visa was applied for the duration of the processing.

If you put a travel date to Thailand in your application that is already passed they will ask you to show a plane ticket to Thailand at a later date or refuse your application

Someone just reported having to go for interview at application embassy. You’re supposed to stay in the country where you applied, which can be considered as full time including application / processing / obtaining the visa. It’s a gray zone I guess so be ready for surprises and don’t lie them about your situation if they find out

Be careful with doing this, it might work, but is against the rules.

If they find out, your DTV application might be rejected.

Yes I did this last month. My dtv took longer than expected in hcmc. Arrived back in Thailand on visa exemption, dtv approved few days later then travelled this month and now have the dtv stamp. It was stressful though
