Hello everyone, I have bank statements in French. Should I get them translated, or is that not necessary? I will proceed my visa in Laos.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether bank statements in French need to be translated for a visa application in Laos. Various commenters suggest that translation to English or Thai is advisable, with some providing personal experiences where French statements were accepted. However, the consensus highlights that requirements may vary by embassy, indicating that caution is necessary.

J’ai fait le visa à Jakarta à l’époque où c’était en physique. Ils ont accepté mes relevés BNP sans traduction. En vrai c’est suffisamment parlant je pense sans traduire.

Après ça dépend des ambassades, donc prudence

I translate for those non French speakers who might be interested.

I did the DTV in Jakarta a couple of months ago when it was still a walk in embassy, and they took my bank slips in French. It seems pretty obvious and easy to understand with no translation.

Be careful however because what can be acceptable in one embassy may be rejected elsewhere.
