What should I do if my Thai visa application was rejected due to name discrepancies in Paris?

Hello,

Anyone who got their visa in Paris?

I just had my application rejected because of my name. I put my birth name because the name box on my passport is the same, and they told me I had to put my birth name + EP. Married name.

Rejected for that, not even a correction request, I'm devastated! And I have the three applications for my husband and children that risk being rejected, but my flight is next Monday.

I called the embassy, no response, I wrote, no response.

I don't know what to do except go tomorrow morning.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user experienced a visa rejection in Paris due to incorrectly filling out their name. They provided their birth name instead of their married name, which led to an outright rejection without a chance for correction. Concerns were raised about their family applications being affected and the urgency since their flight is soon. The comments indicated that it may be best to reapply, but there are strong doubts about getting a visa before their flight.

Why do people book flights before they have their visa? A constant dumb move...

Resubmit, it's fruitless to argue a rejection or cancellation.

If you put incorrect name information, different than what is in your passport, your application will be canceled and you will lose your application fee. You have no ability to appeal nor change the outcome. It is clear on their website and application. When did you initially apply?

so it took them just about a month to get here. Unfortunately, you won’t have luck getting it before you leave. That being said, if you are French, you can still enter Thailand visa exempt for 60 days with ability to extend an additional 30. You can always travel to Vietnam or another regional country and apply there. Only downside is you lost application fees

You most probably need to apply again.

Tomorrow is a holiday so the consulate will be shut, although I doubt you can do anything but start over. How do they no about your married name if it is not in your passport?

I have both, but the line NAME is only my birth name so I thought it was just this name required

I don’t know if there is a separate French language version but in the English version it was says first name, middle name (if applicable), and family name. All of this needs to match what is on your passport
