I’m currently in Ho Chi Minh applying for the DTV visa. I’ve made a submission yesterday and the embassy just requested some additional ones, specifically my CV or portfolio and examples of my work that show what I do professionally.
I’m a social media manager and mainly handle content and accounts for a single creator but I’m not quite sure what work examples to provide.
Would it make sense to include things like:
• Videos I’ve edited or campaigns I’ve managed
• Screenshots of posts or analytics
• Photos of me with the creator at events
If anyone has gone through something similar, I’d appreciate your advice on what to include and how to present it.
Thanks in advance for any tips! 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on what to include as supporting documents for their DTV visa application as a social media manager, specifically after being requested for additional documents like a CV and portfolio. Various comments provide suggestions such as including a cover letter, detailed descriptions of work, business formation documents, financial records, and examples of past work to strengthen the application.
ThoughtfulLychee5096 Yes but a 5-year tourism visa. I also find the gap in requirements and benefits between the Non-Immigrant visas and the DTV to be quite ridiculous.
GoldCranberry8148 Believe it or not, many people can’t even provide these documents. That's why they keep complaining about the requirements becoming stricter, while genuine online workers can easily submit everything needed.
Just keep it precise and brief of what you do, screen shot web site, LinkedIn etc no waffle. Use Ilovepdf to keep file size as required.
Most important are the financials for business show accounts highlighting a few recent invoices raised and monies received in the bank account, highlight those entries
Personal account show 6 month’s statements showing current account balance of 500k baht or equivalent in a foreign personal/savings account.
I had the exact same thing with Hcmc. I don’t have a specific portfolio I submitted my cv with a cover letter explaining my role and why the additional documents didn’t apply to me.
My advice is to supple a cover letter for each request explaining your submissions. Answer all requests in detail.
hundreds of pages 😜 I think mine was like 47 pages only because of the file size restrictions. I had like 63 pages originally 😂😂😂 but combined uploads was definitely over 100 pages
Cover letter briefly explaining what you do for work, then a portfolio document with example links+screenshots of everything you that you described that is remote work (I don’t think the in-person photos are necessary as it’s not remote).
Create a LinkedIn and Screenshot this too, add it as another page.
If you’re a university graduate, attach your certificate as another page.
I’m a video editor, I did all the above + I have a professional website in my name and included screenshots of this too.
Anonymous participant 603 agreed! I also sent over copies of my contracts with my clients, my independent contractor agreements, and my business formation documents.
