Hi and thanks for accepting me in the group. I have a question. Actually two...
1) I entered Thailand on March 20 and, being a national of Argentina, due to bilateral agreement, I was given 90 days in the country. However, probably due to a mistake in calculation, instead of June 18 (90 days after March 20), the exit-by stamp says June 11. Do you think they will consider the mistake or enforce June 11?
2) I assumed the latter and was going to leave today but an unexpected situation arose with a cat I'm taking care of and I will have to stay a few days more. Not a lot since I have a plane ticket from Penang on June 24, but maybe until 20 or 21.
Question would be: do you think that since today (17) and tomorrow (18) the office in Samui is closed (weekend), on Monday I could go and they would let me pay 1 day of fine and give an extension? Do you think they will calculate the fine based on the mistaken date of June 11 or the correct one of June 18?
Thank you!!!!
TLDR : Answer Summary
A user entering Thailand on a 90-day stamp mistakenly received an exit date of June 11 instead of June 18. They sought advice on how the immigration office would handle this error and what action to take, given their need for a short extension due to unforeseen circumstances. Responses indicated that the misunderstanding could be rectified at the immigration office, particularly since they would be able to apply for an extension without an overstay fine if attending the office after the stamp expired on a weekend. Ultimately, the user confirmed they received an extension with no fine when they visited the immigration office.
