I arrived on Wednesday. I have a 1 year non o visa. When I got stamped at immigration the date is till 22 aug 2022. It wasn't until I questioned my husband. His stamp is till may 2023. Why do I have a 3 month stamp? And what must I do about it?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user arrived in Thailand with a 1-year Non-O visa, but was only issued a 90-day entry stamp, while their spouse received a longer stamp due to a different visa type. It is explained that a Non-O visa typically grants a 90-day entry stamp regardless of its longer validity for multiple entries. The user needs to apply for an extension as a trailing spouse at the immigration office before the 90 days are up.

I messaged you about this, how about we sort out a few things before this post runs off the rails more than it has

It appears that your husband entered on a year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O-A (Long Stay) visa (which gets you stamped in for up to a year or as long as your health insurance is valid for which might be why he was stamped in until May)

You came in on a year long multi-entry Non-O <-(notice no A after that) which you got based on being his spouse. That Non-O visa is VALID for a year <- meaning you can exit/re-enter as much as you want during the validity of it

BUT

each entry only stamps you in for 90 days ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

In order to get an extension stamp from the immigration office based on being the "trailing spouse" of someone on a "long stay" visa you and your husband need to go to the immigration office when you have 30 days or less left on your current 90 day entry stamp (the one that expires Aug 22) and apply for the trailing spouse extension for 1900baht.

I'd say GO to your immigration office with your husband well before you're going to apply so you can get the hand out listing the documents you need (whether you need to get the marriage certificate certifed by your embassy, translated, etc) and other documentation for the extension.

So to sum it up it is totally NORMAL for you to get a 90 day entry stamp on a Non-O visa ๐Ÿ™‚ you just need to get the extension matching your husbands when this stamp is going to run out.

A one year non O. Do you mean a one year multi entry non O? They only give 90 day stamps don't they.
