What Should I Do If My Non-B Visa Extension Was Denied Due to Document Errors?

Good evening everyone. Last Monday, I and our company HR went to Chaeng Wattana for the extension of my non-b visa. My non-b visa valid until February 13, 2020, and my WP is until Dec 2020. The problem is the IO didn't extend my visa because they saw some errors in the documents that my HR submitted. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

The IO told me to leave the country before my non-b visa expires and get a new one. In short, I will start again in the beginning. So my plan is to go to the Thai Embassy in Laos to get a new non-b visa (3 months-single entry) on the 10th of February and fly back to Thailand on the 13th.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user encountered issues with their non-B visa extension due to document errors and was instructed to leave Thailand before their visa expired. They plan to apply for a new non-B visa at the Thai Embassy in Laos and seek advice on employment contract dates for the visa application.

Hi everyone. I need your advice.

I will go to the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane to apply a non-b visa (single entry). I have a valid WP until Nov 2020.

I started working in a company since Dec 2018. My questions are if I applied for a new non-b visa, what date should my employer put in my employment contract?

Is it De 2018 or Dec 2019, or should they issue a new employment contract for me?

Also, my WP is already extended until Nov 2020.

The day you started working for the company, also mentioned in the Work Permit which you have to copy and show to get a Non Immigrant B visa in Laos.

Depends, if you like a longer period of work to get more severance pay when fired or a short period of work without severance pay. I know what your employer wants.

When did your extension of stay based on employment expire?

Thank you all for your advice.

take your WP with you, on the multiple times I have been to Vientiane they kept it with my passport when I applied and gave it back the following day when they issued the visa.

I would recommend going to Kuala Lumpur as they are easier to deal with.

Be careful applying on the 10th if your visa is valied until the 13th. Thai visa service lists as Vientiane only issuing 1 non b visa in 1 full year. No idea if they count the one you have if it wasn't issued there?

, my previous non-b visa, is from Feb 2019 until Feb 13, 2020. The IO didnt extend my visa for another year because they saw some errors in the docs. The IO advise me to apply for a new non-b visa in the Thai Embassy in any country.

Yes, I will bring all the documents to be needed in my application, and I will double-check first to avoid any errors.

Yes, I already have an appointment at the Thai Embassy in Laos.

Strange, why is the HR not allowed to get the correct documents, you still have 14 days to apply?

Be aware you need an appointment in Vientiane and you need hand over copies of your valid work permit, bring it with you.

That sounds like a fine plan IF you have the documentation required to get that visa (and you remember to make an appointment because that's not a walk up consulate)

BUT

what is your question?

do you think the Thai Embassy in Laos didn't question me why I didn't extend my visa in ChaengWattana?
