ORIGINAL POSTER
Another friend asked me last night to ask the group, apparently her annual extension non b should be renewed on August 2. (2 years ago she got Non b in sg from Royal Thai embassy and next couple of years got annual extension of stay). During the months of March and April her HR asked immigration what to do since the entire company was not paying salary and using a he gov 5000 baht sub for Thais. immigration said Mai pen rai- now that it’s annual extension time immigration said she is now not legally able to work so to let her visa expire and leave the country for applying for visa in another country—that was before the extension was announced. Now she doesn’t know what to do—cancel extension of stay and work permit and go into amnesty. The company said they will prepare all documents to reapply for new non b but she doesn’t have want to leave Thailand not knowing if she can apply anywhere for new non b on top of able to return to a the country and go into quarantine. Thanks for your help you all!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A friend is facing issues with her Non-B visa and annual extension in Thailand. Her visa expired due to non-payment of salary and she has been advised by immigration to let her visa expire and leave the country. However, her company is preparing documents to reapply for a new Non-B visa, leaving her confused about her next steps while wanting to avoid leaving Thailand.

Trying to get some things in line,

She is not in Thailand on a visa, her Non Immigrant Visa form more then 2 years ago expired long time ago,

She stopped working in March, as the company closed down, so she needed to cancel the Work Permit and cancel her Extension of Stay,

She stil needs to do this before she can apply for a new Extension or Work Permit,

Ask Immigration to work with her Employer and hope she can get a new Extension of Stay based on employment,
