Hi, I'm from the US, currently on a 30-day extension until April 5 (21 days remaining). I want to get a non-O retirement visa. I don't have a thai bank account. I can document the income from rental, pension, dividends, etc. I think I'll need help pulling this together as I just realized I have to get it done by tomorrow to allow 20 days for processing. Any tips on how to document income or get it done right the first time, since it may be my only shot?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user in Thailand is seeking advice on how to document their income from rental, pension, and dividends to apply for a Non-O retirement visa before their current visa expires. They do not have a Thai bank account and are under time pressure to complete the application process. Responses suggest they consider applying for a visa at a Thai consulate in a nearby country and provide information on using a Thai bank account for the proof of funds requirement.

If I may go back to Mark's question is it ok to document the 800,000 THB from a brokerage account in the USA with stocks, ETF's and mutual funds? Thanks

No, unless you are willing to liquidate it

no you cannot use foreign accounts to meet the proof of funds to get an in country 90 day non-O visa based on retirement inside the country at the immigration office

You BANK the money in a thai bank account in your name only and prove it was transferred in from abroad.

okay, it seems you got your wires crossed somewhere.

As Robert pointed out you either transfer in to the country from abroad 800K baht into a thai bank account in your name only OR you transfer IN to the country into a thai bank account in your name only a minimum of 65K baht a month each month every month to show proof of funds.

At this time with what you said you have NO option to get a Non-O visa inside the country with the time you have left.

I'd say go to the thai consulate in Penang Malaysia, apply for a 90 day Non-O visa, using proof of funds from your bank in the US. Come in get stamped in for 90 days, THEN open a bank account and start either transferring in 65K baht a month into the account each month every month or transfer in 800K baht and leave it sit for 2 months before you apply for the year extension.

2.000 Thb are the cost at immigration, NO, no agents, nothing, this is a do it yourself page

If you have not enough days left, the Immigration Officer will help you with the 30 day Extension of Stay to get the needed time
Robert *******
You visit the Immigration Office take your bank book and passport with you, explain that you like the conversion to the Non Immigrant O visa based on being over 50 years of age and if okay the give you a list with requirements. Make the copies, tick the list and when all done, visit again and apply

OK great. Anything I need to know about how to document the income? Are they strict about the 20-day limit or can I plan to extend for 30 days, then return to get the result - if it's not ready sooner?
