Hello and thanks for the advice. Has anyone applied for the retirement visa using the certificate of income of not less than 65,000 baht a month? Is it true that one has to get the affidavit (income letter) from the US Embassy ONLY in the US before traveling to Thailand?
If one is depositing 800,00 baht into a Thai Bank (for retirement visa), it can be done while in Thailand without the US authenticating income?
Just trying to see which one works best for me. Thanks for advice.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses applying for a retirement visa in Thailand with a minimum income certificate of 65,000 baht and questions about obtaining an income affidavit from the US Embassy. Comments clarify that the US Embassy no longer issues affidavits for this purpose and that the required 800,000 baht must be deposited in a Thai bank before applying for the visa.
