What are the income document requirements for applying for a Thai O-A visa from the US?

I need some experienced advice please. I was here almost two years on an O-A (thanks Tod Daniels for explaining how to make that work) and thought it might be easier to get a new visa on a trip back to NYC than extend here. However I was refused in NYC because I did not have 800,000 in the bank, even though I had two years of bank statements (American bank— I showed them my Thai bank book as well but that seemed to confuse the situation) showing monthly deposits of a pension above the 65,000 requirement. I was given a six month tourist visa instead. I want to reapply on my next trip. I have heard the L.A. embassy is easier to work with. My question: what will be considered an income certificate (an original copy) with a monthly income of not less than 65,000 Baht, that will be acceptable? A bank statement, motorized by the bank, did not do it in NYC. Should I get a pension statement? Thanks in advance for help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat shares their experience of being denied an O-A visa application in NYC due to financial documentation issues, specifically not meeting the 800,000 Baht requirement although having sufficient pension income. They received a six-month tourist visa and seek advice on what constitutes an acceptable income certificate for reapplying, mentioning confusion caused by bank statements. Comments provide insights into successful methods of obtaining the visa from other US consulates and discuss the importance of proper documentation.

You should have gotten the visa by showing an original statement that showed you get 65K baht a month (or the equivalent) in income, NOT just 65K baht a month in transfers to your thai bank but a certificate from social security or your retirement provider should have worked

BUT

IF you had met the financial requirements you should have just applied for a yearly extension of stay inside the country before you left for the US straight off your last O-A visa stamp for 1900baht before you left..

Now you're on a tourist visa, so you either come in on that, apply for a 90day Non-O visa from the immigration office and go for a yearly extension after that

OR

you try to get an O-A from one of the other thai consulates in the US that offer them (Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington DC)

I’m not getting your 2nd paragraph after the “BUT”, Tod. Are you saying he should have extended his O-A in Thailand and then also re-applied for a new one in the U.S.?

Get it from Los Angeles Thai Consulate.

Questions:

When do I need to get bank statement? Must it be bank guaranteed? If so, what is it , a stamp or cover letter?

Medical certificate from any doctor stating no diseases listed on the link , elephantitis ect

Police report is just statement stating no criminal action and from local police station where I live in NYC

Anyone have opinion as to time it takes to get

In 2017 I used notarized Wells Fargo bank statements to submit to the Thai Consulate in L.A. I also submitted my University of California pension letter. I don't which one they used but I was successful getting an O-A visa at that time.
