Hi everyone

I want to apply for DTV in Ho Chi Minh

I am with a wife and two children

I understood that before I can apply for my dependents I need to receive an approval for me as DTV holder.

Is there someone here who already did that and can tell how long it takes for the approval?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The applicant is seeking information on the processing time for a DTV visa application in Ho Chi Minh City, mentioning that they need the approval before applying for their dependents. Responses indicate that the processing time for the DTV online application is stated to be 5 working days, although some uncertainty exists due to a recent switch to online applications.

Someone approved in 24 hours online but in Hanoi. HCMH likely approving quicker than 5 days.

No, no one can tell you. They just switched to e-visa on the 8th and have only been accepting online applications for less than a week. Anyone who has any experience from the past is irrelevant.

you have to go to Vietnam yes. You are no longer allowed to go to the embassy though.

Brandon, I've heard it's better to stay there while they process in case they want to interview you. I s that correct?

They won't want to interview you. But if you leave the country and they ask for proof that you are still in the country, they will cancel your application without refund.
