Hey,

Wondering if there are any tech wizards here?

I got an ais esim, data package.

But for some reason my phone just won’t find the signal for ais.

I know there is signal here, I’m in bkk airport.

Gone to the ais desk and they can’t help.

I’ve reset my network settings, toggled with all the settings, turned it on/off. Everything (i think)But it’s not working.

Weird thing is my English sim automatically tags on to true and I have full bars. But if I toggle it to ais it disappears.

Any help is appreciated 🥲

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is experiencing issues with their AIS eSIM not connecting at Bangkok airport, despite having a data package and seeing signal available. They've reset network settings and attempted various troubleshooting steps without success. Comments suggest potential solutions, including checking SIM settings, ensuring the phone is unlocked, downloading the AIS app, and turning off the overseas SIM to prioritize the Thai eSIM.

Have you tried turning your overseas sim off.. ie. disabling it.. so the handset can only function with the Thai e-sim.. that way you are forcing the phone to ignore the overseas sim altogether.. and secondly have you toggled the settings to make the Thai e-sim the primary sim.. i have an option on my Samsung / Android phone that allows me to set preferred sim for voice calls, texts etc.. which enables the Thai sim to be recognised as the main sim.. maybe worth trying

If your phone isn't locked, manually select your network from Settings as opposed to letting your phone automatically find and select a carrier. You'll find instructions on how to do that on Google.

Download the Ais app and see what it says

Are you sure your phone isn't locked? If you bought your phone from your carrier, that may be the issue.

Are you using your e-sim or trying to connect your English sim to AIS?

Turn plane mode on and off. Wait a few seconds in between.

not sure then. Do you have it set to auto detect the network, stands a better chance than manually trying to select the network?

Should not need to toggle to anything, all I do is have both eSIM on and sim on and set all calls, data and messages to the thai number yet still have access to my au number

no Thai number as it’s a data only package. But yes to your previous question. I have done it all. 😫

data sims have a number as well.

I would have expected it to have a number. Also have you used esim before? Not all phones can use esim
