TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about potential immigration problems when returning to Thailand with a new UK passport and a new tourist visa after experiencing issues in the past due to having too many visas in their previous passport. Several commenters suggest that Thai immigration can track all past entries through their database, regardless of the old passport's chip status. They recommend preparing proof of sufficient funds, onward travel, and accommodation details to improve the chances of a smooth entry. Overall, most believe the user should be fine since it's their first visit this year.

You may wish to chat with Amornrat before you trek to Thailand.

Sometimes people do the job they are paid for. In the case of Immigration officers they do not get paid for smiling and stamp every passport at convenience of the passport holder. The are paid to check if the person has the intentions to visit the country as mentioned or described for the visa the person wants to use to enter the country. Questions could be asked to get the situation more clear.

As someone said if u departed Thailand last year Im sure you will be fine

If first visit this year...you SHOULD be ok. Assume the bestt, prepare for the worst.

If you haven't been here for 11 months, I'd say you're all good.

, okay, just so you're clear, whether you switched passports or not, the thai immigration system will match against your surname, DOB, sex, and country of origin. They'll be able to see EVERY entry you've ever made to thailand going back as far as they wanna look.

As far as saying will you have a problem on your next entry, no one can say one way or the other whether you'll skate right thru passport control or get pulled aside and questioned.

All you can do is hope for the best and have the 3-proof-ofz;

proof of 20K baht or the equivalent in CASH

proof of onward travel

proof of confirmed lodging or hotel

They have your name, nationality, birthdate, and photograph in their database. They can cross-reference that.

, if you are presenting proof of, dont be silly enough to show a Thai bank account or a long term lease etc, That just helps them determine you are not a tourist.

Proof of funds, proof of accommodation, proof of exit travel.

The immigration officers can see every entry you have ever made in their database. Have your three proof-ofs and a plan B.
