ORIGINAL POSTER
Currently on an ED visa, going to my home country next month and will get a new passport there as my current one has almost expired. On arrival back in Thailand I am planning on show both passports, the old passport with current visa and re-entry permit and new passport. Will this cause any problems at the airport in Thailand?

How soon do I have to go to immigration to change the visa from old passport to new passport? I need to go to immigration a week or so after im back anyway for a visa extension, so could I just wait and do it all at the same time? Or do I have to change the visa to my new passport within 24 hours? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on an ED visa and plans to get a new passport while visiting their home country. They inquire about showing both their old passport (with the current visa and re-entry permit) and the new passport upon returning to Thailand, seeking clarification on potential airport issues and the timeline for updating their visa in the immigration system.
