What are the requirements and processing time for applying for a DTV visa from the UK?

I shared this last week:

My DTV got approved today through the UK/London embassy 🎉 (and just in time not to mess with my Berlin trip for anyone feeding back on that thread 😂) - so here’s how it went:

7th June - Application Submitted

17th June - Additional Documents requested and sent by me same day: pages of passport, more savings proof (from a personal account, they wouldn’t accept my business account), letter from the organisation I freelance with to say I work remotely for them, consent letters that I understand I can’t work in Thailand and will not leave UK while process is underway.

18th June - They requested a boarding pass from my last trip to Thailand (May) - sent same day

19th June - APPROVED!

All in all a pretty seem-less process. I’d highly recommend adding a cover letter to documents to describe any discrepancies - ie my invoices don’t quite tally because of international transfer fees so I explained that. And just be super thorough with checking the details.

As above. Check recent posts. There was a detailed one earlier about someone's Mum and the list of requirements. It was a lot more detailed and extensive than seen from the past in the UK.

Are you applying for Softpower or Workcation? As the requirements differ.
