Anyone's from Bangladesh who got DTV visa? Need suggestion...
Answer summary
Expats from Bangladesh seeking a DTV visa in Thailand have several options and insights shared within the community. The METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa) is frequently mentioned as a viable alternative, allowing for extended stays with periodic border runs. Some participants suggest considering the Elite Visa for those who can afford it, while awareness of current immigration crackdowns is emphasized - with reports of increased scrutiny for tourists. There are also viable strategies like obtaining a tourist visa followed by extensions and re-entry options to maximize time in Thailand, but participants caution that options may vary based on evolving immigration policies.

Until things change, maybe this: get a tourist visa before you go for 60 days, when in Thailand get an extension fir 30 days, leave the country (Vietnam is fun) return by air and get a 60 days on arrival visa, then you gotta leave. That’s 5 months, and you keep your Canadian residency and health plan intact.

Could be eligible for DTV Workcation with regular income and company letter confirming 'working remotely' albeit its your time off but employed full-time. Only catch is having to leave every 180 days.

Just because you want to be in a country, doesn't mean you can be. You don't have many options if you want to do nothing to qualify. An METV might work, but spending that much time in Thailand also makes you a good candidate for being interrogated or denied entry upon trying to do a border bounce for a new tourist stamp.

I'd say the only visa that lets you live in Thailand with no strings attached is the Elite/Privilege visa, but it's expensive.

An METV is fine. I have the same situation and been using the METV for over a decade. Mind you I do leave Thailand two times to reactivate my visa. I ride my motorcycle over to Laos for 2 or 3 days at a time. I apply in Canada for METV with information about my bike with pictures of green book and bike. I give dates as well for departure and return. But once you are in Thailand it doesn’t matter what dates you use as long as it is before your 60 days. And don’t forget you can extend 60 to 90 days with extension. So you can stay longer than 6 months. And I get my visa excepted every time. You can also just take a short trip to Cambodia or Vietnam and have a good time. Or just hop over the Laos border. With METV you only have to overnight and then come back to Thailand.

NT Benzie a lot has changed in 10 years. 10 years ago it was usually no issue to abuse visa exemption staying 30+30, exit and return same day and repeat. Big problems doing that now. METV will start having same issues soon if haven't started already. People with DTV are already getting denied while trying to re-enter Thailand. Immigration has had enough of tourists abusing the system

Jeff Stein I have done it every year for over 10 years. Never a problem. Here is a tip, try to pick a line with a male IO. The woman immigration officers seem to be more suspicious.

It has been fine, but they've been doing so much cracking down on tourists lately, there's no guarantee it will remain fine. There have been multiple reports this year of people with METV and getting pulled out of line after doing a 60+30 and then a bounce.
