Idiot of the week post incoming 😆

I completely forgot to do my 90 day report, it was due over a month ago, I'm due to leave Thailand again on the 9th November.

I understand there's a fine coming my way but do I need to bother with going to immigration or can I pay it at the airport?
Answer summary
A user forgot to complete the 90-day foreigner report required by Thai immigration and is seeking advice just days before leaving Thailand. While some comments suggest that the airport immigration may not enforce this, others recommend going to immigration to settle any fines to avoid possible complications upon re-entry. It's indicated that any fines could be around 2,000 Baht and some users emphasize the importance of resolving the issue to prevent future hassles.

Immigration while exiting/emtering Thailand does not care about.your 90 day report

You can pay freely at the airport.

Likely a 2,000 baht fee next time you do a 90 day. Assume you have DTV (multi entry) so no need to get re-entry permit. The 90 day resets once you leave and enter back to Thailand. No one will be out looking to arrest you! Would be more concerned about possible questions when you re-enter Thailand on DTV be prepared may be asked for supporting documents.

In a foreign country lucky they have special visas allowing people to live in Thailand. And then you read how a total flake skips a once every 3 month immigration reporting. The person just doesnt care. Hope they kick you out. You ruin it for everybody. All this entitlement.

Larry Wheeler thanks Larry, let's kick me out over a small mishap of missing a (essentially pointless procedural formality) let's throw away the life I've built here because I forgot to show face at immigration

I overstayed by 12 days after Covid as I had to isolate for 10 days and I had to pay a 2,000 Baht fine at the airport

told you: IF (yes: only IF!) they notice it by the next time. So the advice is, DON'T act, don't do anything, exit Thailand. Immigration at the airport won't care. Take your chances, when you re-enter, after 90 days you need to do the 90-days report by yourself on Immigration, keep fingers crossed they won't notice your flaw, but be ready to pay 2000 THB in fine if they insist

I would HIGHLY recommend going to immigration, paying the fine, and be done with it. No possible issues at the airport. Never know what they might do.

RampantDragon589 TM47 form, and it's free. At Chiang Mai, you only need that and passport. TM30 must have been done but you don't need receipt. Some other offices may want that receipt printed, or photocopies of passport, depends on office.

The airport doesn't know or care about the 90-day report. It is also unlikely that immigration will notice the next time you do one. Mine didn't.
Carlos *********
Too bad you dont have some sort of device you could keep on your person that notifies you of important events. If only someone would invent this type of technology you wouldnt need to worry about important dates.Youll pay $2000 bht fine for this.
John **********
Go to Immigration asap and explain why.Don't leave it to the airport.

Just prey immigration/police don’t pull you up on a spot check. Arrest, deportation and banned from coming back.

It is generally not picked up at the airport. 2000bt fine if it is. Some posters here confusing 90 day report failure with visa overstay! The last time I flew out I hadn't done my 90 day report. Not an issue.
Geoffrey ******

Garry Ronalds If you hadn't reached the ninety days being due, then no problem. However if you haven't done your ninety days and it is due, you may have issues. Best thing to do, go to immigration pay the fine and be done. No possible issues at airports

If you're not planning on using your local immigration for resident certs etc before leaving. I wouldn't worry about it, and pay the fine IF and when picked up.

It doesnt matter. 2000 baht fine for 1 day late or 11 months late, the fine does not accumulate. It is a one-time thing until you pay up the fine and the 90-day count down restart. The immigration at the airport wouldnt even care, but do not forget to apply for re-entry visa before leave the country.

It's a requirement of the extension to report within 90 days. If you don't you're in breach of the visa and its extensions. You can think what you like I don't give a flying fuck what you think otherwise.
Mikkel *******
Mikkel *******
Dave Owen no it is not. It is a completely separate process, just like the rule with the tm30 (report within 24 hours of staying somewhere overnight).

What will happen when you go and apply for your extension, is that they will notice you missed it (one or more 90 day reports), and then they will fine you 2.000 baht and give you your extension if everything else is in order.

Dave Owen 90 day report has nothing to do with your visa or extension of stay. You are not on overstay just because you did not report in. But you will get a 2.000 baht fine for not doing it.

Mikkel Kruse you have broken the rules you promised to keep when you obtained your extension and signed the form recognising the probable penalties. Or maybe you didn't do any of that. I certainly did, but hey, carry on, makes no odds to me.

Airport Immigration , will not even mention it , or care .

When you return they "might" pick up on it at your next report , but probably not .If so , they will fine you 2000 baht .

Your 90 day reporting is now “Overdue” I suggest you go to your local immigration office pay the 2000฿ fine and get the “Overdue fine stamp” in your passport, it’s one less thing to cause issues at the airport on your departure

David Allen missing a 90 day report is not "overstay" like you seem to think. There is no stamp put in your passport, and immigration, when you leave and return, they don't care about a 90 day report miss. They simply deal with that fine the next time you file your 90 day report.

No point worrying about it now, and immigration at the airport won't care about it. The next time you go to your local immigration office you'll pay the fine, if they notice.
