TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the documents needed to apply for a COVID extension in Bangkok after already extending a tourist visa by 30 days. Comments clarify that if the user entered Thailand on a tourist visa purchased from a consulate, they must go to Chaengwattana for extensions, while those who entered on a 30-day visa exemption should go to Muang Thong Thani. It is suggested to refer to a pinned topic for additional information.

Thats got about all the info you'd need to try for a covid extension.

Remember IF you came into the country on a real tourist visa <- that you bought from a thai consulate before you came here and were stamped in for 60 days when you arrive you go to Chaengwattana to get your extensions

Whereas if you came in on a 30 day visa exempt entry <- showed up with no visa and were stamped in free for 30 days you go to Muang Thong Thani for your extensions

unless your embassy still issues one you won't be asked for it. Most embassies stopped giving them out over a year ago.

what does it mean exactly? iโ€™m confused. that means iโ€™ll get probably the covid extension with that letter from the german embassy?

they might ask for proof of onward travel (That you're leaving in the 60 days you get the covid extension for) OR they might not. This new covid program is not the "hand out covid extensions to every tom dick and somchai foreigner who wants one" like the other programs were ๐Ÿ˜ฎ .

There seems to be much more scrutiny and vetting (at least at some offices) in the granting of them

no, i just mean you need to be prepared is all,

you said you came in on a 60 day tourist visa got the 30 day extension and now want a covid extension. Shouldn't be too hard, just go to the office and apply.

, IF your embassy issues a 'give this person a covid extension' letter get it, and if they don't issue it print the email saying they don't issue it and take than in case you're asked.

Now whether you get the covid extension or not comes down to the officer you're sitting in front of when you apply ๐Ÿ™
