TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your 2-month Thai tourist visa in Bangkok, you need to visit the main immigration office located at the government complex on Chaengwattana Road, as there is no Thai embassy in Thailand. The cost for the extension is 1900 baht, and you are not required to provide proof of onward travel or proof of funds for this extension. The office hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. It's advisable not to wait until your current visa stamp is about to expire; you can apply for the extension when you have 45 days or less remaining.

I edited my earlier comment to include all the information.

Remember there is no need to wait until your current stamp is running out, because they ADD the 30 day extension on to your expiration date.

You can go when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp.

There is NO thai embassy IN thailand :O (Just like there is no US embassy in the US ;) )

You would go to the main immigration office out at the government complex on Chaengwattana Road.

You do NOT need proof of onward travel OR proof of funds. You are confusing the requirements for getting a tourist VISA at a thai consulate in another country with getting a 30 day extension at the immigration office.

It costs 1900baht, they are open 8:30 - 4:30

Here's the Map
