Can my friend do a visa run to Laos from Isaan with only a copy of his work permit?

Hi!

My friend said he's in Isaan on a work trip and realized he's very close to the laos border and needs to do a visa run this week however his work permit is in Phuket being renewed. Anyone know if a copy will suffice and if you can just do the visa run 24 7 in Bueng Kan?

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on whether a copy of a work permit is sufficient for a visa run from Isaan to Laos, as their friend needs to do this while the work permit is being renewed in Phuket. Responses indicate that a work permit is not required for a visa run on a multi-entry Non-B visa, but emphasize that the border at Bueng Kan does not operate 24/7 and suggest using the Nong Khai border instead, which is open from 6 AM to 10 PM.

Border is not opren 24hrs. Only 6am to 10pm everyday (no holiday).

you don't need a work permit to bounce out and activate another entry on a year-long, multi-entry Non-B visa. He'll be fine bouncing at the Nong Khai border (y)

NO, he need the Non Immigrant B visa, which you do not get by passing a border.

He can do a border bounce to activate a new 90 days period.

There is no bridge in Buengkan. He can go to Nong Kai. That's about 2-2.5 hours in a minivan. The bridge closes at 10pm i believe. Dont know what time it opens in the morning. Maybe 6 or 7.
