Do I need to transfer my visa extensions to my new passport before leaving Thailand?

Hi There..

I’m coming to the end of my last STV extension and I will be leaving the country before it expires.

I have a new passport that was issued a month ago, I haven’t transferred any extensions to this new passport.

Is that something I will need to do before leaving the country, or am I ok to just provide both passports on departure?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The person is nearing the end of their STV extension and is concerned about leaving Thailand with a new passport without transferring their visa extensions. Comments suggest it is acceptable to present both the old and new passports at departure, along with an embassy letter.

If you are leaving Thailand within your current stamp, just provide both passports at passport control at the airport on your departure. Just be sure you have the embassy letter with you as well.

yes. If your passport was issued in Thailand via your embassy, the embassy should have issued a letter saying something like that this new passport number xxx was issued to this person with the old passport number zzz. It is proof about both of your passports are yours.
