What should I do about my non-immigrant O visa expiring before I can extend it?

Help. I hope somebody can give me an answer as to the best way to deal with this. I am moving in mid March to Jomtien Beach. I had already obtained a non-immigrant O visa for 90 days that I intended to activate when I arrived in March. Unfortunately, I came to Phuket for a music festival this month, which was not part of the original plan. They insisted that I start my 90 day visa now. It’s now going to expire in early April, which I think is going to be way too soon to get anything done in terms of extending it to the one year, which is the original plan. I have two options as far as I can see it. I can leave the country without getting a reentry permit which will void my current visa and then apply for a new one. What I’m concerned about is whether they will have an issue with me reapplying for a new non-immigrant O visa after allowing one to expire. The original visa was extremely easy to obtain, so if there is no issue with applying for a second one, that might be the easiest option. Alternatively, I can come back in March and hope that I can get an extension in the three weeks that will be remaining on the current visa. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual seeks advice on managing their non-immigrant O visa, which is set to expire prematurely after being activated unexpectedly. They have two potential courses of action: either leave Thailand to apply for a new visa, which raises concerns about reapplying after a visa expiration, or attempt to secure a one-year extension within the limited time left on the current visa. Comments from other users suggest that using a visa agent might ease the process and highlight the importance of having the required 800,000 THB in a Thai bank account for an extension.

No issue if you leave without a re-entry that visa is done. Then just apply for the new one. I'd open the bank account on the first trip as it gives you plenty of time and secondly you will learn if you are going to have any issues.

You didn’t say if you already have a bank account? If not then you are better off using an agent as has been suggested. They will be able to do your Extension within the time you have.

If you do have a bank account then make sure you have 800k in it ASAP then you’ll have the choice of doing it yourself or using an agent. It will only take a couple of days.

To get a 12 month extension of stay you need 800k in a Thai bank for 2 calendar months before you apply so if you are close to that I'd just let this one go and apply for a new one

Maneerat can do it very quickly ,but I advise you to open a bank account ASAP when you arrive, this will make it much quicker no need to deposit the 800,000bht as the agent can sort this for you.

Do not open a Bangkok bank account use Kasikorn bank much quicker with Kasikorn bank

he should open the bank account here in Jontiem not in Phuket because the agent will need to access the account locally to put the money in.
