This back and forth with the London embassy for this DTV is hard work… they just asked me to provide a e-ticket for future date if possible? So confused. I’ve just put my flight details for the 7th January, I have booked a return flight home yet. I have added my coach’s work permit which isn’t an issue it’s just this other one is the confusion, anyone know what they want ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is confused about the London embassy's request for an e-ticket for their DTV visa application, as their current flight is booked for January 7th. Commenters explain that the embassy may require a flight reservation that is at least 15 working days after the application date, ideally 4 weeks away. Some suggest obtaining a flexible ticket for the end of January and note that the busy holiday season may cause additional delays in processing.

Read between the lines. It’s holiday season and they won’t get it processed before the 7th because they are not working very hard to do it.

Thailand is becoming just to hard , they don’t want tourists

@Gary *****
Most countries get a 60-day visa exemption and an easy 30-day extension so how come it's hard?
Deepak *******
@Gary *****
They want tourists, but they don't want fake tourists to come to Thailand, work illegally, and set up illegal businesses.

It’s because they needed more info. Then a e ticket. I had the same. But I used Siam legal. They delt with it all

Whats wrong in London? Why would they even ask for a flight booking for issuing a DTV visa?

Get a flexible ticket for the end of January

KnowledgeableFrog7031 there responding to me fast tbf but impossible to get through to anyone on the phone lines. It’s just so bloody difficult and now I’ve sent it my original flight (7th Jan) AGAIN they are requesting a valid work permit of the coach at the Muay Thai gym cos he must of accidentally sent me a old one what’s out of date! It’s a stressful challenging process this, and my days are running down haha
Knowledgea***********
@Adam *****
surely they can accept 7th Jan. Especially when you applied on the 1st December.

The Thai embassy in London is closed the 31st, Jan 1st and Jan 2nd for holidays. Jan 3rd and Jan 4th is the weekend. That means there are only 2 working days left before your current departure. They are literally telling you it isn’t enough time and you need to reschedule your flight. If you don’t and depart before visa issued, there is a good chance your application is canceled.

@John ******
my flight is the 1st January. Ive received no such response from the London Embassy.

KnowledgeableFrog7031 - What will you do now?

@John ******
well that’s me screwed then, I’ll just after enroll into a Thai language course as well once there, and then do my Muay Thai as well, that should work shouldn’t it?

@Adam *****
So does that mean you are thinking of arriving on visa exempt and then applying for an education visa? Another option is to fly to Vietnam and re-apply

for the DTV. They usually process within 5-10 days

KnowledgeableFrog7031 the first application was 1st December buddy. MOT

@Adam *****
mine too but i haven't even received a response yet

They are saying the flight information you provided is too soon. They still not have your visa completed by January 7th so they want to see a new reservation at least 15 working days away from when you applied, but recommend 4 weeks.

i fort applying for the visa at start of Dec would be enough time, how was i so wrong haha
Knowledgea***********
@Brandon ***********
how can one be expected to book a flight when the visa status and processing times are completely unknown.

Surely if the applicant meets all the requirements for the visa, it should be granted then the applicant can book their flight.
Deslea ********
KnowledgeableFrog7031You can buy a fully flexible ticket. These are more expensive but can be changed or cancelled for a small fee. That’s why they make a point of saying it can be a refundable ticket, so you know that’s acceptable.

@Adam *****
the normal advice is that the timer resets on each request
