Applied for DTV through thai embassy in ottawa. Approved within the day.
Asked me for more info (broken link in one of my documents) 90 mins after me submitting application, submitted the document an hour or so later, and approved a couple of hours later.
I did however get my application pre-approved, in that they said I could send them all my documents to look over before applying so I didn't need to waste the application fee if I wasn't eligible and was pre-approved. Pre-approval took a couple of hours only also.
I see a lot of folks talking about the ottawa embassy taking quite a while but ... maybe not.
I am feeling like the low wait time is maybe because of Thailand/Cambodia stuff but don't know for sure.

They mention having received pre-approval to assess eligibility before application to avoid unnecessary fees. While some have reported longer wait times at the Ottawa embassy, this user experienced expedience, possibly influenced by current circumstances regarding Thailand and Cambodia.
thanks very much for the reply ๐.. reason I ask is that Iโve called there before, left messages and havenโt received a return call. That was a few months back tho so maybe they are more on the ball these days! Congrats again, how exciting ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
yes, please let us know who you spoke with. Iโll be applying once I get back to Canada next month and Iโd like to be able to get the โlook overโ of my documents, instead of being denied and losing the fee.
I mean, I just phoned the ottawa embassy, they have a phone number specifically for visa stuff, they offered to do the pre-approval (I'm a designer, so I had to show a professional portfolio of my work). And I sent in my documents to their email specifically for visa stuff. It's all on the thai ottawa embassy website
