How can I get pre-approval for a Thai DTV visa when applying from Canada?

Applied for DTV through thai embassy in ottawa. Approved within the day.

Asked me for more info (broken link in one of my documents) 90 mins after me submitting application, submitted the document an hour or so later, and approved a couple of hours later.

I did however get my application pre-approved, in that they said I could send them all my documents to look over before applying so I didn't need to waste the application fee if I wasn't eligible and was pre-approved. Pre-approval took a couple of hours only also.

I see a lot of folks talking about the ottawa embassy taking quite a while but ... maybe not.

I am feeling like the low wait time is maybe because of Thailand/Cambodia stuff but don't know for sure.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience of applying for the Thai DTV visa through the embassy in Ottawa, mentioning a quick approval process. They received approval within a day after submitting their application and providing additional documents. The user highlighted a pre-approval option that allows applicants to verify their eligibility before officially applying, which also took only a few hours. This contrasts with others' experiences of longer wait times at the Ottawa embassy.

yes, please let us know who you spoke with. Iโ€™ll be applying once I get back to Canada next month and Iโ€™d like to be able to get the โ€œlook overโ€ of my documents, instead of being denied and losing the fee.

Thanks.

I mean, I just phoned the ottawa embassy, they have a phone number specifically for visa stuff, they offered to do the pre-approval (I'm a designer, so I had to show a professional portfolio of my work). And I sent in my documents to their email specifically for visa stuff. It's all on the thai ottawa embassy website
