I'm going to apply for a multiple entry TR e-visa. Does anyone knows what is classified as a "genuine reason to visit Thailand on a regular basis" as stated below?

I want to train muay thai, travel around and perhaps do a diving instructor course. Is that sufficient?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the requirements for obtaining a multiple entry TR e-visa for Thailand. The author asks for clarification on what constitutes a 'genuine reason' for frequent travel, mentioning intentions to train in muay thai, travel, and take a diving instructor course. Responses highlight the importance of showing flight itineraries, the cost-benefit analysis of multiple versus single entry visas, and anecdotal advice regarding visa applications and extensions from others who have successfully navigated the process.

FYI: I just got my multiple entry visa aproved and i provided only a flight to Thailand and a flight out of Thailand. The only thing that sucks is that the visa is valid 6 months from today and not from the end of october when i'm actualy leaving.

I talked to the embasy now and they told me that if i exstend a multiple entry TR visa then the extension is counted as a different visa. Since you only allowed to hold one visa at the time the TR visa will be invalid after extension.

Furthermore the ambassador recommended me to get a single entry visa and told me if i ask the immigration office nicly to extend it for more than 30 days they might be able to sort me out...

I love Thailand

NEVER listen to what an Embassy says about in country extensions, and never listen to what immigration says about obtaining a Visa or entering the country. They are completely different government agencies that do not communicate with each other and have no idea about the policies of the other.

Everything you just got told is completely wrong.

I just completed a 5 month visit to Thailand. I showed evidence of my both my arrival flight and my final departure flight. I took care of the two required exits while there.

I would find an event or something in a neighboring country, buy tickets and buy a bus ticket to that country.

Or just do visa runs.

Since the multiple entry is also quite a bit more expensive than the single, you must consider if it’s worth your while. It does save you a second and potentially third application, though.

it states that i can only apply for the e-visa while i'm in Sweden so if i want to do a secound application i have to visit a consulate.

They want to see a flight to Thailand, a trip out of Thailand, and a trip back to Thailand. Potentially even 2 trips out of Thailand.

Something to justify needing the multiple entries.

can you put 30 day extensions on the multiple entry’s?

I just did the application, showed a flight on day 59 to Malaysia, return 2 days later, this was enough

thanks for letting me know. On what step did you add the flighttickets? Perhaps "7 . Travel booking confirmation (of the first visit)"?

It allso seems like you only can add one file per step...🤔

Did you actualy book the trip to malaysia or did you just make a reservation? Thank you!

I made booking, can use layout to put booking on one page in travel booking, they will email you for any further information

Every 60 day tourist entry can be extended for 30 days. But it might not fly for the application part of the process if you try to show your trips out of Thailand 90 days apart.

yea if I went that route I’d do the extension on the end of my trip back in, just looking at what my options are for rentry besides visa exempt. Thanks
